he Vanbrugh Quartet are giving a concert at Anaverna on Sunday 11th October at 3 pm.

Haydn’s String Quartet Op 33 No 3 is one of his “Russian” Quartets. (The Carducci Quartet played Op 33 No 2 “The Joke” at Anaverna in July)
The works by Rimsky-Korsakov and Borodin were written for Les Vendredis, weekly musical evenings in St Petersburg at the end of the 19th century
Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No 3 is the third of his three string quartets and was composed in 1876

Vanbrugh are RTE’s resident String Quartet, Arists in residence at Univerisity College, Cork and founders of the West Cork Chamber Music Festival at Bantry House. They have an extremely high reputation. This concert is being recorded by Lyric F
