Haydn’s String Quartet Op 33 No 3 is one of his “Russian” Quartets. (The Carducci Quartet played Op 33 No 2 “The Joke” at Anaverna in July)
The works by Rimsky-Korsakov and Borodin were written for Les Vendredis, weekly musical evenings in St Petersburg at the end of the 19th century
