Friday 27 January at 8pm
Professor Nicholas Grene (my brother-in-law) will read from his memoir of childhood - Nothing Quite Like It – which has recently been published (and very well reviewed). A light supper will be provided by my son, Thomas, after the reading.
This is a fund raiser for the Andrew Grene Foundation. Nicky’s brother Andrew worked for the United Nations inHaiti and died during the 2010 earthquake. The Foundation was set up in his memory and has already built and equipped a secondary school and established a credit union to promote small local industries. You can see a lot more information athttp://www.andrewgrene.org/
This event takes place during Haiti Week, an Irish initiative to promote awareness and raise vital funds for the Caribbean country. - seehttp://haitiweek.org/
I suggest that your donation is €20 or €10 if you are suffering from the recession or any other form of poverty. Nicky’s book will be on sale and, if you buy a copy, that too will benefit the foundation.
If you are coming please email me at verelc@gmail.com or leave a message at 042 9371490 - so that Thomas and I can have some idea of numbers.
